AI Ops @Profitroom | Helping 4,000+ Hotels Profit More
Hotels lose 20-30% of revenue to OTAs. Most know it. Few have a plan. I'm building the systems that change that - at Profitroom, a hospitality SaaS platform trusted by 4,000+ hotels to grow direct bookings and reduce dependency on Booking.com and Expedia. My role sits at the intersection of AI, automation, and go-to-market. I lead AI and automation initiatives across the company - connecting the dots between internal productivity, sales infrastructure, and product thinking. If there's a workflow that should be smarter, a process leaking time, or a growth motion that needs building from scratch, that's my territory. What I focus on: - AI adoption that actually sticks - helping teams work with AI agents, not just around them - GTM infrastructure - Clay, HubSpot, Claude stacks that make outbound scalable and measurable - Generative Engine Optimization - helping hotels get found by AI, not just Google - Direct booking growth systems - from content tools to revenue visibility frameworks - Multi-agent orchestration for hospitality workflows Before Profitroom, I spent years at Netguru - building cool products for top Enterprises and Scale-ups, forecasting models, aligning GTM functions, and leading post-M&A integration. That background gives me a systems lens most AI people don't have. If you're building in hospitality tech, fighting the OTA battle, or figuring out how to make AI work inside a real organization - let's talk.

Quick recap: the 7 hospitality tech signals that defined H1 2026: 1. OpenAI killed in-chat travel checkout (March). Signal: ChatGPT purchases converted ~3x worse than merchant sites. Travel stocks jumped the day the retreat leaked. Why it matters: AI owns discovery, not the transaction. The booking still happens where trust lives - and that can be your website. 2. Google previewed agentic booking in AI Mode (I/O, May). Signal: AI Mode crossed 1 billion monthly users within a year, and Google is building direct hotel booking into it with six lodging partners - announced, not launched yet. Why it matters: search is turning into a booking interface. The discovery layer is moving one step earlier in the funnel - hotels need to be visible where the trip is now planned. 3. AI visibility (GEO) became a real product category. Signal: Cendyn launched Wayfinder, Lighthouse acquired Hotelrank, DirectBooker went live in ChatGPT and Claude. Why it matters: Lighthouse data shows AI surfaces only ~10-13% of hotels in major markets. OTA dependency is a tax - AI invisibility is a cliff. At Profitroom we’re helping hotels get visible in AI answers before that cliff arrives. 4. Mews doubled down on “AI-native” operations (July). Signal: fresh off a $300M raise at a $2.5B valuation, Mews restructured to shift from software provider to AI service provider - a platform that absorbs hotel operations work. Their own data: 98% of hoteliers now use AI operationally. Why it matters: the ops layer is consolidating around AI fast. But operations is only half the stack - the commercial side (visibility, direct bookings, guest acquisition) is a different battle, and it’s the one that decides who owns the guest. 5. Travelers plan with AI - but won’t book with it. Signal: Expedia ’s own research - only 8% comfortable booking via AI, 68% prefer a trusted brand even when AI booking exists. Why it matters: the trust gap structurally favors direct channels. Show up in AI discovery, close on your own site. 6. Big brands shipped enterprise AI. Signal: Marriott’s Ask Bonvoy runs only on verified Marriott data - not the open web. Choice standardized on AWS AgentCore across ~7,500 hotels. Why it matters: chains are building walled gardens AI can trust. Independents need the equivalent: structured, accurate, machine-readable property data. 7. MCP became the industry standard for AI distribution. Signal: SiteMinder, Travelport, Simple Booking all shipped MCP connectors. Wyndham’s CEO: connecting to LLMs cost “less than $100,000” - with zero transaction fees, because guests complete the booking on the hotel’s own website. Why it matters: the rails for commission-free, AI-driven direct bookings already exist. The question is who plugs in first. What a half-year. H2 has a lot to live up to.
Sport is the new reason to travel 💪 Hotels haven’t figured that out yet. Searches for “workout holidays” are up 50% YoY. Sports tourism is a $700B+ industry - growing at double digits. NYC Marathon last year - $178M in lodging spend. One weekend. London Marathon 2026 - 1.1 million ballot applications. 37% of finishers ran their first marathon ever. HYROX - 650 athletes in Hamburg in 2017. 1.5 million competitors across 135 events in 43 countries in 2026. New York sold out in 40 minutes. The audience: 30-something urban professionals with disposable income, traveling in pairs and relay teams. USAA’s Director of Advocacy compared HYROX events to Taylor Swift concerts ❤️ The playbook isn’t complicated. A foam roller in the room. A 5 AM breakfast option. Late check-out as a default, not a favor. A note on the pillow: “35th km will hurt. You’ve got this.” Costs almost nothing. Builds loyalty Booking.com can’t touch. Sports event guests don’t want a discount. They want to know you knew they were coming. Most hotels don’t even know the event is happening. What’s your next sport trip? (Mine is the Tatra SkyMarathon in the Polish mountains + fingers crossed for the London Marathon lottery 🤞)
