PMP-certified. Certified Change Manager. Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt. Process-obsessed. I specialize in simplifying the work that can't be seen, but always gets done. Happy to announce that I am now a proud member of Canadian Women In Food. I spent over 14 years in foodservice before I moved into operations consulting, and joining this group feels like coming back to something. There has always been something magical about the business of food. It is one of the few things every single person needs. It feeds people, it employs people, it holds families and communities together. Being surrounded by women who build in this space, is a good place to be. Being welcomed by such an incredible group has been amazing. Grateful to be in the room.
Every project that gets marked "complete" but never gets adopted leaves scar tissue in your culture. And it adds up. People whisper. They say things like "We do a lot of pilots" The word "pilot" comes with some version of an eye roll. A new system rolls out. Go-live happens. The project team celebrates and moves on. The project shipped. The boxes were checked. Six months later, half the floor is still running the old process on the side. But your organization learned a lesson anyway: "This too shall pass. Just wait it out." That lesson compounds. The third time it happens, people stop showing up to training with an open mind. The fifth time, your best supervisors tell their teams not to bother. By the tenth, you do not have a rollout problem. You have an immune system trained to reject change. None of that is a people problem. It is structural. Project management gets you to "done." Change management gets you to "used." ♻️ Repost if a "completed" project in your company is quietly gathering dust ➕ Follow Sarah Wilson for more on operations and change management 💬 How many finished projects has your organization launched that nobody actually uses?
Nobody loses trust in the meeting where the mistake happened. Errors happen. People are understanding in the room. Trust goes about three weeks later, when the same thing shows up again and starts to look like a habit. What follows is predictable. More check-ins. More approval gates. More reporting that feels like accountability but really just adds friction to a process that was already broken. The cost lands harder than most operators expect. Once people stop believing your team will do what it said it would do, they stop looping you in. They build workarounds around you instead of coming to you to solve the problem. Trust does not come back because you apologized well. It comes back because you changed something and people watched it work. This week on the Operating on Purpose - Podcast, Penny Cook and I get into what that actually takes. The three-sentence correction that replaces the apology tour, why the size of your next promise matters more than the quality of your explanation, and where to look first when you are tracing back a missed commitment. ♻️ Repost for someone rebuilding credibility with a team right now ➕ Follow Sarah Wilson for more on operational leadership 💬 Tell me what actually worked when you had to earn trust back 🎧 Listen here: Apple: https://lnkd.in/gKyGRPZc Spotify: https://lnkd.in/gGXFhv4d Amazon: https://lnkd.in/ghbBbfPc
