About Stacey Danheiser

Helping brands stay relevant in the AI era ✦ Co-founder at Empressa® ✦ B2B Growth Strategist ✦ Empowering women to thrive in the portfolio economy

Like many women, I followed a path that seemed logical. I built a successful corporate career, spent more than 14 years in marketing leadership roles at various Fortune 500 companies, and had the opportunity to work with some incredible brands. On paper, everything looked great. But over time, I became fascinated by a question: Why do some companies grow while others struggle, even when they have talented people and great products? That curiosity led me deeper into customer research, strategy, and helping organizations find clarity around who they serve and the value they create. Eventually, I got tired of explaining "why marketing matters" to the C-suite and I left corporate America to start consulting, helping B2B companies accelerate growth. That transition taught me one of the biggest lessons of my career. Being good at your craft and building a business are not the same thing. I had to learn how to sell, price my expertise, build a brand, and create opportunities instead of waiting for them. More recently, I became fascinated by AI. Not just the technology itself, but the impact it would have on careers, businesses, and economic opportunity. What concerned me was seeing women adopt AI at lower rates than men, despite the fact that AI is rapidly becoming a career and business advantage. That realization led me to co-found Empressa AI. Our mission is to help women build their empires with AI they can trust. We empower women to use AI to turn their expertise into income, and thrive in what we believe is the emerging portfolio economy—a world where people will increasingly combine traditional work, consulting, digital products, advisory roles, and other income streams. Looking back, every chapter of my journey has been connected by the same theme: helping people create value. First for large companies, then for growing businesses, and now for women who want to stay relevant, resilient, and economically empowered in a rapidly changing world. It’s never been a better time for women to build their legacy. → Learn more at empressa.ai

  • For most of my career, success looked like a pretty clear formula: First, get a good job. Then, do great work. Eventually, earn a promotion. Build your reputation. And move up the ladder. I followed that path for years. I worked inside multiple Fortune 500 companies. I made it through a dozen mergers, acquisitions and lay-offs. I built teams, launched strategies, created frameworks and stacked experience. And I’m grateful for all of it. But I see career security very differently today. Because the thing we were taught to think of as “safe” - one job, one title, one employer- is riskier today. That doesn’t mean everyone should quit their job. It means we need to stop thinking of our JOB as our career. A job is one place where you apply your value. Your portfolio is the value you carry with you (from one employer to the next). Your expertise. Your relationships. Your reputation. Your ideas. Your frameworks. Your intellectual property. Your ability to turn all of that into different kinds of opportunities and income. I didn't have language for this when I left corporate. But looking back, I can see that I had already started building a portfolio long before I knew that's what I was doing. Every time I was handed a major initiative - launching a new product, executing a large-scale event, building a GTM strategy, creating a major campaign, I did more than complete the assignment. I created MY way to do it. A framework. A process. A methodology. At the time, I thought I was just getting better at my job. Today, I can see that I was building intellectual property. Those frameworks became the foundation for books I've written, workshops I've taught, consulting engagements I've led and methodologies I still use with clients today. In other words, I was building my portfolio while I was still building my corporate career. I just didn't know to call it that. And I think AI is about to make this possible for far more people. Especially women. Not because everyone needs five side hustles. But because we finally have tools that make it easier to turn what we know into something we can own. That’s the shift I’m most interested in helping women make right now. From building a career around a job title… to building a portfolio around your value. A job is temporary. Your portfolio grows with you. On Sept 22, we open the doors to our new Operator Lab, led by Empressa® | AI Women Trust. It's a live build experience designed to help women understand the full value of their portfolio and turn their expertise into an AI-powered asset they OWN. If you're working in corporate, were recently laid off, actively building your side gig or business...this is for you. We want you to see the full possibility of what you're worth.

  • When I left my corporate job the first time, I had to learn something no one ever taught me. How to turn what I knew into something I could own (and sell). I tried a lot of different things: Consulting. Wrote a couple of books. Developed online courses. Designed and led workshops. Created my own frameworks. Some of these worked better than others. For example, I learned that selling a lower ticket offer takes almost the same effort as selling a high ticket offer. And all of this trial and error made me realize that my expertise can be packaged into many different assets. Lately, I hear so many women saying, “I know I have something valuable. I just don’t know what to do with it.” You probably already have IP. That process you built to fix a problem? The framework you refined over 15 years? The briefing document you developed to prepare for sales calls? Those aren’t just job skills. They’re building blocks for something you own. So the question is, what could you build from what you know that belongs to you? A workshop, a diagnostic, a course, a book, an AI-powered tool? That’s the heart of the portfolio economy. Instead of leaving your value behind when you leave a job, you start building things that are yours. And now, with AI, you don’t need a huge team, big budgets, or months of runway. You can start building on your own. That’s why Empressa® | AI Women Trust is hosting the Operator Lab live on October 21st. It’s not a talk about what you *could* build. It’s rolling up your sleeves and building it. If you’ve been wondering what your expertise could become, come join us for the next lab!

  • 25 years ago today, I was standing at a bus stop in New Jersey waiting to go into New York City for a job interview at HBO. I remember watching the news about a plane hitting the World Trade Center and trying to make sense of what was happening. Then, at 9:03 a.m., the second plane hit. And suddenly, we knew this wasn't an accident. I still got on the bus. We headed toward the city, but were stopped at the Lincoln Tunnel as the crossings into Manhattan began shutting down. Eventually, we all got off the bus, and I walked back home. Then I waited. My husband was working on Long Island that day. With the tunnels and crossings closed, it took nearly 8 hours for him to make his way home. This was before smartphones and Apple Maps. He used a paper map, kind strangers and police officers to give him directions back to Hoboken. I remember so much about those days. And 25 years later, I also recognize how fortunate we were. We both came home. Today, on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I climbed 110 flights of stairs at Crunch Fitness - the height of the World Trade Center towers. I climbed in honor of the firefighters and first responders who headed up those stairs toward danger while everyone else was trying to get out. For those who gave their lives trying to save others. For every person who never made it home. And for the families who have carried their loss for 25 years. Some memories don't fade with time. Never forget. 🇺🇸 P.S. It took me 42 minutes to climb 110 flights on the stairclimber wearing workout clothes. I can’t imagine what it would be like carrying heavy firefighting gear and an extreme sense of urgency. It puts their courage into a new perspective.
