  • It's a great day for another Workday Rant... The developers are at it again: creating "enhancements" on things that the ecosystem doesn't want. With the NEW Activate Pending Security Policy Changes Task, the Business Benefits are supposedly "enhancing the overall security change control process and better enabling you to dynamically update security policies." Please, explain how. At this link, you'll find a myriad of great questions and comments regarding the update. https://lnkd.in/gTw827JN What you should know: - This "enhancement" now removes the prior activation comment and timestamp. It's simply not there. I don't get to see the last person at the task, nor get a moment to copy and paste my comment when I need to activate multiple times for the same reason. - The individual domain or BP security policies that changed are listed on the task. This is new; you used to need to type the comment and click to the next screen. It's the one thing I don't mind. - You still cannot select/un-select any individual changes. It's still all or nothing. Why remove our comments and timestamp just to reduce by ONE CLICK? I love Workday, you know I do, but these kinds of things are really, really annoying. --------------- #WorkdayWoman Rant Over!

  • The 9-to-5 was made up. By a man, even. *cough* Sorry, guys. I'm pretty over it. If you plan ahead with me, sharing the expectation and request, I'll probably get up and attend your 8AM meeting. Otherwise? Call me a rebel.🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm just setting boundaries and saying that my "working hours" aren't what everyone else's are. And so be it. Everything still gets done. I just choose not to be available every hour that you are unless absolutely necessary. I may be thinking about you at 2AM in my time zone, because I'm compelled to, care, and want to help you. But we'll connect Live at a mutually agreeable time. So far so good.✌🏼 🦸🏼‍♀️

  • As my Workday ecosystem comrades finish out the week -- and either kvell from their successes or immediately go to bed to forget it all -- I want you to remember this: It's not worth the effort if it's not enjoyable. Truly. Just do what makes you happy. If you want to learn about a whole different functional area because you hate the current one (REC folks: it's okay, so do candidates 😂 )... go for it! If you feel like you need a break, take it. Quit your job if that's what you need to do! If you've been on the client side for years and want to try it out as a consultant, what's the worst that could happen? If you want to keep helping others have a great Workday, do it in the way that makes sense to you. Every way is correct. Also, there is no timeline to doing what you love: stop pushing time forward and just enjoy the process. "A career is a sequence of jobs, roles, and experiences that a person holds over the course of their working life, focused on long-term professional growth and skill development." - FNEGE Médias ---------------- #WorkdayWoman 🦸‍♂️✌ P.S. I don't actually hate WD REC but it cannot hide from the hate... my clients get 100% from me in that FA but I cannot fix what's behind the Dev wall.
