Founder & GTM at Decade Journey | Build an outbound strategy you’re actually proud of
Hey there! My name is Guilherme, but people call me Gui. I am building decadejourney.com My background is in engineering (graduated back in 2017), so I bring a builder's mindset to sales. I've spent my career in the trenches of B2B SaaS, worked at incredible companies like Bringg and Tractian. I've done it all: from making 50,000 cold calls as an SDR to leading teams as a manager. What I learned is that successful outbound comes down to two things: a great offer a smart strategy. That’s my focus. I help founders build targeted, non-spammy sales campaigns. We use our engineering mindset to build creative workflows with tools like Clay and n8n, but the strategy always comes first. If you're a builder who's tired of the typical lead gen playbook, let's connect.

Proof that sales people can build too. Apify recently published a Builder Spotlight on my journey with their platform and how that ended up taking me to Prague. Still blows my mind when crazy stuff like this happens. Huge thanks to the Apify team for putting this together! Mirella Ang de Jonge and Daniel Lee Full story here: https://lnkd.in/dUaYj9jy
I am considering moving our newsletter from Substack to beehiiv, and I would love some input. Substack has been a great place to start, but we really need two things to scale right now: 1. Better automations for our backend workflows. 2. More flexibility and ownership over the subscriber list. If you currently use Beehiiv (or recently migrated to it), what has your experience been like? (feel free to DM me) Are there any hidden downsides or missing features I should know about before making the jump?
We recently revamped how we use signals for our clients. We were overcomplicating lead scoring and struggling to make signals actionable. Now, every single enrichment we build goes into just two metrics: an Account Score and an Awareness Score. Here is the framework we use: Step 1: Account Score (Firmographics, Deep-research, CRM context) This tells you how good of a fit the company is. We use Clay to enrich our lists, but this can easily be done anywhere else. The output is a list of accounts ranked from Tier 1 to Tier 3. Step 2: Awareness Score (Intent) This tells you how ready they are to buy right now. We check for weekly signals: hiring for specific roles, engaging with competitors, the usual stuff. Plus any other custom signal (like the workflow tracking power outages I shared last week). Each signal scores that particular account by a variable amount. The output ranks accounts from Unaware to Most Aware (the 5 stages of customer awareness). Step 3: Outreach Matrix This is the most important part. You combine the two scores to decide exactly how you sell to them. • Tier 1 + High Awareness = Super Priority. Executive for 1:1 outreach. • Tier 2 + High Awareness = High Priority. Sales Team/LinkedIn Campaigns. • Tier 3 + High Awareness = Medium Priority. Automated cold email. • Low Tier + Low Awareness = Do not outreach. (This routing might change depending on your situation). It might sound technical to set up, but it really is not. You probably already have a list of "Top Accounts". Now, if you have any signal going for those accounts, just ask Claude to score them based on your own criteria. That is pretty much it. I recently recorded a video walking through this as well.
