Fast delivery feels like the thing that should win you the next client. It's measurable, it shows up in every pitch. But nobody refers you for being fast. They refer you for being trusted, and those are two different skills to be good at. The moment trust actually breaks isn't the mistake. It's the silence after it, whether you flagged it before the client noticed, or let them find it themselves.
