  • 💧 Why pay for energy when nature is already doing the work? Sometimes the energy we need is already around us. Water, gravity, air, or even the movement of the process itself can be turned into useful motion. No sophisticated controls. No complicated systems. Just clever engineering and a good understanding of basic physics. That's the beauty of Karakuri, low-cost automation. Before adding a motor, sensor, or actuator, ask: What energy is already available that we could use? Where have you seen natural forces cleverly used to automate a process? 💬 ‐----------‐-------------------------------------- 👋 Hi, I'm Andrej! 📌 Follow me for a daily dose of Lean and Operational Excellence from real-life. 🔔 Turn on notifications, so you don’t miss a thing! 🗣 Don't forget to like, comment and share!

  • 🔄 The best improvement can happen before the work even starts. We often focus on making the actual operation faster, but sometimes the biggest opportunity is in the preparation. A well-designed jig can eliminate measuring, positioning, and repeated adjustments from every cycle. Spend a little more time preparing the process, and you can save time on every single piece that follows. And there's another advantage: stable quality. When the process guides the operator, there is less variation and less dependence on individual skill. A small investment before production can pay back thousands of times during production. Where could better preparation save time in your process? 💬 ‐----------‐-------------------------------------- 👋 Hi, I'm Andrej! 📌 Follow me for a daily dose of Lean and Operational Excellence from real-life. 🔔 Turn on notifications, so you don’t miss a thing! 🗣 Don't forget to like, comment and share!

  • 🎯 Precision beats speed. Sometimes the fastest way to complete a task is simply to do it accurately the first time. In manufacturing, we often focus on cycle time and ask how we can make a process faster. But if speed creates mistakes, rework, or repeated attempts, we haven't really improved the process. A precise process delivers the right result with less variation, less waste, and fewer corrections. That's why good process design should aim for both: Fast enough. Precise enough. Repeatable every time. Where have you seen precision make a bigger difference than speed? 💬 ‐----------‐-------------------------------------- 👋 Hi, I'm Andrej! 📌 Follow me for a daily dose of Lean and Operational Excellence from real-life. 🔔 Turn on notifications, so you don’t miss a thing! 🗣 Don't forget to like, comment and share!
