Hi, I'm Milica! I build brands people actually remember, then make sure people actually see them. I work where brand meets distribution, the two things most companies split into separate teams that fight each other. A brand nobody sees is just a nice logo. Reach with nothing behind it burns out fast. My whole career has been doing both at once, for real companies. And I'm really proud of these: - DragonSwap (Web3): Led growth and brand for the native DeFi hub on Sei, past a 90K audience and $1.2B in all-time trading volume in seven months. - Prepia (EdTech): Led marketing as it crossed 500K users, after one of the largest funding rounds in Serbia in 2025. - Marketics (my own agency): 150-plus clients across EdTech, SaaS, Web3, and traditional brands. Content systems that drive leads and visibility. - My own LinkedIn: 30k followers in a year. Top 1% LinkedIn creators globally (Favikon). The #1 growth and lead-gen creator in Serbia. I didn't grow it by posting more. I grew it with a repeatable system, the same way I'd grow yours. What I can own for a team: -Go-to-market strategy, positioning, and messaging that actually sticks. -Content systems that drive pipeline, not vanity metrics. -Founder-led and community-led growth. -Personal branding on LinkedIn for founders and execs. -Building and leading the team that ships all of the above. I'm just as comfortable at 0 to 1 as I am at scale. I've made the messy early bets and done the "now turn it into a machine" part. I've done it both. If you're building something where brand and distribution both matter, my inbox is open. And if you just want to argue about marketing, that works too.

Day two of my challenge, and my mind is completely blank. I don’t know what to write about, so I procrastinated the whole day. Even though I had time this morning and this afternoon to write, I didn’t. I didn’t feel like writing, or like it was going to bring me any fun. Then I headed to the gym. I did a hell of a training, and afterward, I started thinking that maybe I should just skip today. No one is reading. No one is there to track my commitment. So I was like, yeah, I’m going to skip, and I’m going to redo it tomorrow. No one is keeping score. Then the lights went out, and the whole city went dark. And I was like, holy shit, this might be some sort of sign. So I walked home in pitch-black darkness and started writing on a piece of paper. When I was halfway done, the lights came back on, and I started typing. Maybe I’m going to start writing manually again because I feel like it’s much more enjoyable. But for now, this is the post. I’m keeping my promise, and I’m posting today. Here on LinkedIn, I’m definitely still going to type. But writing manually feels much more fun. And here I am. It wasn’t as hard as I thought. Writing this was pretty enjoyable. ⚠️ Follow Milica Balaban if you're into marketing insights, personal stories, and the ugly truth.
Things I’ll never accept again after working at startups: -Everything being urgent because no one planned anything on time. -Constantly changing priorities and calling it agility. -Having responsibility for results but no authority to make decisions. -Founders wanting senior expertise, then ignoring it the second it becomes inconvenient. -Working late to fix problems I didn’t create and wasn’t allowed to prevent. -Being told to “think like an owner” while having none of the security or benefits of one. -Being expected to do the work of ten people because “we’re a small team.” -A complete lack of processes being presented as freedom. -Job descriptions that change every two days. -And, of course, “we’re like a family here.” I still love startups. I love building something from nothing. I love moving fast. I love the chaos when it actually leads somewhere. But I’m no longer impressed by chaos for the sake of chaos. Some things are part of working at a startup. Others are just bad management. ⚠️ Follow Milica Balaban if you're into marketing insights, personal stories, and the ugly truth.
Over a year ago, I started posting on LinkedIn because my writing felt stuck. I forgot how to write, so I set myself a 30-day challenge. That challenge began my LinkedIn journey. More than a year later, I’ve gained so many followers, conference speaking gigs, great contacts, business opportunities, and everything else that came with it. But the one thing that began this whole journey was writing. And over a year later, I’m feeling stuck again. I started posting for the sake of posting. It stopped being fun like it used to be in the beginning. So I’m setting myself another LinkedIn challenge: the 30-Day LinkedIn Challenge 2.0. The goal is to bring the fun back into my writing. Stay tuned and ⚠️ Follow Milica Balaban if you're into marketing insights, personal stories, and the ugly truth.
