Let's get this straight, real cringe isn't posting content. It's leaving growth and revenue on the table for someone else to take. Visibility gets you into the right rooms. Not the big conferences, but the well-curated, intimate ones. Those are the north star. In those rooms, you cut through the fluff and get to the core, the people. You build and nurture relationships at the next level. Last night was a perfect example. I was selected, alongside 39 exceptional women founders and executives, for a first look at Monday Girl 's Platinum launch. It's a community built for entrepreneurs and executive women who want more of these intimate, hand-selected rooms, where they can grow their businesses, exchange ideas, and build a powerful network of insanely talented women. We were pampered, dined, and introduced to women who will change the trajectory of our careers for the better. Congratulations to Rachel Wong and Istiana Bestari on the Monday Girl Platinum launch. You changed the game on how women network, and now you're changing how we do business, one open door at a time. Thank you💚 Nancy

My sales leader called me out in front of the whole floor. Then I ran to the washroom and cried. That was sales 18+ years ago. I was raised on the sales floor of hard knocks and the sales floor looked a lot different. There was no remote work, and the floors were loud, with almost everyone on the phones. LinkedIn was in its baby stages, and it was tough to get emails. We used phone books, or did walkabouts in our territories and took pics of the building directories. Remember those? You'd snap a blurry pic on your flip phone, then show up at their offices with a pitch and some swag. With almost no flexibility, you had to build your life around office hours. As a working mom, it was tough. Thank god I had my mom to help out. My dad would drop her off at my house early in the morning. I know, I was extremely lucky. The sales floor was also led differently. The leader walked the floor, and if you weren't on the phone, you'd better get on it ASAP. If you were a solid actor, you could fake your way through a "pretend" sales call, or call your mom as a last resort. Yeah, the sales world was definitely scarier back in the day. Beads of sweat running down your face, because the thought of embarrassment would just kill you. And yes, one day I got called out on a specific account I owned. In full honesty, I wasn't doing a great job. I had so much intel I could have leveraged, and I didn't. I was too junior to realize I'd dropped the ball. I held back the tears through the public verbal beating (lol), then ran to the washroom and, yes, cried. I questioned whether I was cut out for sales. That stern conversation came from a genuine intention to challenge me and bring out what she knew was brewing in me. Her intentions were solid, even if the delivery wasn't for everyone. That was my first taste of tough sales leadership. And honestly, it did get softer over the years. I think as companies hired more HR folks, they had to rein in the sales peeps fast... LOL. This may be controversial, but I'm honestly thankful for those old-school days. They taught me resilience, and in sales, you have no choice but to be resilient. The amount of rejection is insane, and yes, you'll deal with tough clients too. That tough-as-nails mindset is what gets you to the major wins. 18+ years in, you'll still catch me running around the office, screaming with joy and gratitude when I've earned the trust of an amazing client. The excitement never leaves, because I truly love what I do. Were you raised on an old-school sales floor too? Tell me your war story 👇 Nancy PS- Baby sales Nancy. And fun fact my daughter rocks those now vintage BEBE jeans.
